Christmas Baking Bonanza
Here’s to baking, surviving, and thriving, or at least attempting to, this Christmas🫣🍰
Ah, Christmas family baking days- equal parts joy and chaos! There’s nothing quite like the sight of flour-dusted countertops, sticky fingers, and a trail of chaos led by my two boys “helping” in the kitchen. If you’re anything like me, baking at this time of year is a mix of holiday ambition and the chaotic reality of a busy household. But don’t worry, this year’s lineup of sweet treats will make the effort worth it (even if your kitchen ends up looking like a snowstorm of icing sugar hit it).
Below I have provided you with three festive bakes that’ll make you look like you’ve got it all together, even if you don’t. Christmas baking doesn’t have to be perfect—it’s about the fun, the mess, and the memories. Wishing you happy baking and even happier eating this Christmas season!
Clementine Spiced Angel Food Cake
Something you might want to kick the kids out of the kitchen for- a show stopper festive cake- Clementine Spiced Angel Food Cake: a light, fluffy cake, delicately spiced and zingy enough to cut through all the festive indulgence. It’s a proper crowd-pleaser and a surprisingly low-effort showstopper. Make the clementine curd ahead if you’re feeling smugly organised.
Red Velvet Roulade with Raspberries
Let’s be honest: does anyone actually eat Christmas pudding, or is it just a flaming ritual we all feel obliged to uphold? In my house, this Red Velvet Roulade is the real dessert star. With its rich sponge, fresh raspberries, and cream filling, it’s got all the sense of ceremony without the divisiveness. It’s modern, festive, and guaranteed to disappear faster than you can say “who wants seconds?” (Spoiler: everyone.)
Bundt cakes are my secret weapon when it comes to Christmas baking. They look fancy enough to impress, but they’re basically foolproof- thankfully, because foolproof is the level I need with two small boys demanding “just one more lick of the spoon!” This Spiced Christmas Bundt is packed with warm flavours and perfect for slicing up alongside a hot cup of tea (or something a little stronger, depending on how the day’s gone). It’s the baking equivalent of a big, festive hug.
