We’re in full vacay mode here in Palm Springs, CA. This trip to Los Angeles is the first back since we lived here from 2015-2020. We've been eagerly planning for months, reminiscing about our favourite spots and properly closing a chapter here after having to leave in a rush in March 2020.
We can't help but point out landmarks to our boys, regaling them with stories of coyotes, skunks and their early years in Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Silver Lake, Venice & Pasadena and the adventures we had as a family.
The last week we’ve spent catching up with friends, eating, there’s been so much eating and soaking up the sunshine. This week though we’re in Palm Springs for a little switch off in the desert. Here’s the menu from last nights supper, maybe some inspiration for the next time the sun shines.

Hi Donal! You signed my copy of your cookbook in Swords Pavilions. I was in the mobility scooter. I have a lot of friends living in PS/Cathedral City and get there at least once a year. While you are in PS, you should hit up Shields Date Farm in Indio and have a date shake- it's requisite for every trip to PSP. While you're there, pick up a bag of date crystals and see what you can make from them!
